Same Old Cabinets, Brand New Look - Walnut Creek

Do you want the look of a new kitchen without the expense of replacing the cabinets or moving the plumbing and electrical connections? Our clients, a retired couple in Walnut Creek, did.

So, we created this timeless look with paint. We integrated a new island and some new wall cabinets into the existing cabinet layout. We also replaced the flooring, appliances, countertops, and backsplash. Read on for more pictures and tips on how to create this look. Before and After Photo of Remodeled Kitchen with White Painted Cabinets, Stainless Steel Appliances and Quartz Countertops
The sides and top of the old refrigerator were exposed. (Nothing ruins the look of a white kitchen like seeing the black sides of the refrigerator!) So, before painting the cabinets, we covered the sides of the refrigerator with wood panels and put a fridge depth cabinet above. New crown molding unites the cabinets, old and new.

Do you like this clean, crisp look? To achieve it, pair white cabinets with off-white walls and a light wood floor. The medium tone quartz countertop and black pulls and knobs add interest. The grass window shade offers privacy but still lets light in.

Your island doesn't have to match the rest of your cabinets. We added this island. It's alder with a subtle stain and has just enough room for two to eat or enjoy a cup of coffee. The wall cabinets between the two tall pantries are also new and match the island.
